A feeble attempt to rekindle the film franchise previously starring Morgan Freeman in the lead. Thankfully, where Tyler Perry flounders as hard-nosed criminal investigator Cross, Matthew Fox prevails as his vicious antagonist. But his performance isn't enough to overlook a poorly structured story, terrible dialogue and the obvious miscasting of Perry. Even the cinematography and score wreaked of a direct-to-video release, which is very disheartening considering the well made films that came before this one.
