Jack the Giant Slayer is basically Transformers with giants instead of robots. The CG characters are so overly detailed they look cartoonish, the story felt lacking of anything "new" and the pacing is choppy and sloppy. Not even enjoyable -- and sometimes very funny -- performances from Nicholas Hoult, Ewan McGregor and Stanley Tucci are able to elevate the film overall.
