Martin Freeman Talks Potential Starring Role in THE HOBBIT

Star of BBC's Sherlock, Martin Freeman, is still open to play Bilbo Baggins in the upcoming The Hobbit, but only if scheduling conflicts open up.
The actor initially turned the part down because of scheduling conflicts with his TV show Sherlock, but reports are saying that both sides are trying to work something out as he's still the top choice.

“If something could be worked out, that would be great," said Freeman.
The 39-year-old actor also says he would be a good pick age-wise for the role since Bilbo wasn't young in the book and the bridge between The Hobbit and Fellowship of The Ring would be more believable.
"Absolutely, because Bilbo isn’t 20 at this stage of the story and I reckon I could do a young Ian Holm. I think I could give that a go,” he said.
We'll have to wait and see if the studios can sort The Hobbit out first as there is still no greenlight for the long awaited prequel. You can check that news out here.
