Adam Sandler Scribe to Adapt PIXELS into Feature Film

Pixels, a short film that went viral earlier this year, was picked up by Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions. Longtime Sandler collaborator Tim Herlihy has been tapped to write the feature length adaptation.
Happy Madison approached the short’s writer-director, Patrick Jean, when it saw the potential to make a Ghostbusters-style action comedy in which characters come out of a video game to wreak havoc in the real world.
Pixels was created by Patrick Jean and shot on location in New York. Herlihy, who has been with Sandler since his SNL days, has written or co-written most of the actor's movies including The Wedding Singer, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy and Big Daddy just to name a few. If you haven't seen the short, here it is.

Like the short. Not too sure about Happy Madison developing. Maybe it will work as long as they keep Rob Schneider away.
Also, they kind of did this on Futurama.
