CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER Preview Report & Clips Reveal More Action Packed Footage

UPDATE: ET has aired their one minute preview for this Summer's Captain America movie starring Chris Evans, Haley Atwell, Tommy Lee Jones and Hugo Weaving.

Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the NAZI'S in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy's earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment... Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the Super-Solider Serum and bombarded by "vita-rays." Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later,he was given his first assignment as Captain America.Armed with his indestructible shield and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and as leader of the Avengers.

Captain America: The First Avenger stars Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, Stanley Tucci, Haley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Toby Jones and Neal McDonough. The film is directed by Joe Johnston and is scheduled for 2D and 3D theatrical release on July 22nd, 2011.

Are they afraid to say Nazis? They make it sound so generic. Superhero vs. Evil. C'mon, the whole WWII setting is immensely important.

Wow! Every new piece of footage they release makes the movie look better and better. I love the shield ricocheting across the room, the color palette, and everything so far. Big Grin

The TV spot was only 30 sec. How better could it have been without being a TV spot?

I have a feeling this and GL will be better than Thor. Thor will be great, but this and GL look pretty darn awesome. I just hope all three will prevail in the box-office as well as with fans and critics.
