Katherine Heigl Returns To the Small Screen With THE KNITTING CIRCLE Adaptation

The former Grey's Anatomy actress has signed on to not only star but serve as producer on a HBO original film based on the novel by Ann Hood.

The project centers on a mother mourning the death of her young daughter and struggling to overcome the grief that jeopardizes every aspect of her life — including her marriage. She begins to find her way back into the world through a knitting circle.

Award-wining playwright Craig Wright, creator of Dirty Sexy Money, will write the screenplay. Wright previously worked on HBO's Six Feet Under.

This will be Kathrine Heigl's return to television since her exit from the series Grey's Anatomy back in 2010.
