Universal Sets April 2012 Theatrical Release for AMERICAN REUNION

With most of the original cast in place, the next chapter of the hit comedy franchise is being fast tracked into production next summer and is scheduled to premier in theaters April 6th, 2012.
The original trilogy -- that ended in 2003 with American Wedding -- is a franchise which spawned the resurgence of teen sex comedies. Although many original cast members were absent from even the third film, Producer Craig Perry recently told the press that he wanted to "do it right" and get the entire original cast back in the saddle for the next installment, but acknowledged the amount of scheduling/planning conflicts inherent in such a proposal. More plot details have also been leaked which you can check out HERE, but be warned for massive spoilers.
Chris Klein, Jason Biggs, Sean William Scott, Alyson Hannigan and Eugene Levy have all signed on to reprise their roles. In the continuation of fidelity to the original series, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge are currently meeting with the studio to iron out deals of their own to reunite with the American Pie crew.
American Reunion will be directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg (Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle and Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay). This is an interesting combo because Harold and Kumar star John Cho made his big screen debut with the original American Pie and gave birth to a pop culture term that changed perverted slang for eternity when he said "MILF." The film will be released to theaters April 6, 2012
