FX's POWERS TV Series Casting Call Reveals Chicago Filming Dates

The pilot episode for the FX Network, based on the Eisner Award winning Image Comics' Powers series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, will be filming in Chicago between July 12th through the 30th.

The series follows Detective Christian Walker, who was once a hero who has since lost his extraordinary abilities. As he and his partner, Deena Pilgrim, investigate crimes, they uncover the seedy underbelly of the caped set, such as a Superman like character being a sex fiend. The title is creator owned by artist Michael Avon Oeming and writer Brian Michael Bendis, who is widely known for his work in the mainstream Marvel Universe. The pilot will be produced by Sony and F/X with Karen Barragan (Rescue Me) on to co-produce. Justified's Michael Dinner is expected to direct a script written by Charles Eglee (Dexter; The Walking Dead) who will both serve as executive producers as well.

The series, which is still adding members to it's main cast, is set to star Bailey Madison as Calista and Charles S. Dutton as the head of a homicide police precinct where detectives Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim work.

A casting call from Atmosphere Casting in Chicago, Illinois, was recently put out and reveals filming dates in the area:

I am pleased to announce that we are going to have 2 projects coming up.

The first is an independent feature film,"Just Like A Woman", shooting June 20-July 8th. The second is "Powers", a pilot for the FX Network based on a graphic novel series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming; filming July 12-30th.

We will need lots of POLICE (M/F) for both of our upcoming projects . We want to use as many REAL police officers as possible with any remaining slots given to extras who have portrayed police on screen before. There is potential for multiple days of work.

If you are a real policeman and have worked with us before, you don't need to do anything, we will be attempting to contact you.

If you have never worked with us before, but have submitted a registration to us in the past, we ask that you send a follow-up email with "POLICE" in the Subject line to powersextras@gmail.com. Please attach a picture of yourself in uniform and at a minimum, include a good working contact phone number.

If you are new to us and submmitting for the first time, please send an email to extrascasting@gmail.com with POLICE REGISTRATION in the Subject. Include the following: name, phone, email address, age, ht, wt, which dept. you work for, and your uniform sizes. Please include a picture of you in uniform.

If you know a police officer that may be interested in this opprotunity, please pass along the info.
