New Plot Synopsis Released for Director Ridley Scott's PROMETHEUS

Director Ridley Scott's Alien franchise prequel, which stars Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron, is curently filming in preparation for a 2012 theatrical release
Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.

With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. "
Directed by Ridley Scott (Alien), the film stars Ben Foster (X-Men: The Last Stand), Noomi Rapace (Sherlock Holmes 2), Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class), Charlize Theron (Monster), Idris Elba (Thor), Rafe Spall, Guy Pearce (Memento), Emun Elliott (Lip Service), Benedict Wong (Moon), Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green and Kate Dickie. Damon Lindelof wrote the script which was originally written by Jon Spaihts and based on an idea by director Scott. Prometheus is currently filming in the UK and scheduled for theatrical release on June 8th, 2012.
