CONFIRMED: COMMUNITY Returns to NBC March 15th
Cast and crew of NBC's underdog comedy series are coming back to finish the show's third season which was put on hiatus during last year's mid-season lineup change.
Community is an American television comedy series that airs on NBC and was recently renewed for a third season. The show centers on Jeff Winger, played by The Soup's Joel McHale, who is a suspended lawyer attending Greendale Community College after it is discovered that he falsely claimed to have a bachelor's degree. It also stars Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Donald Glover, Jim Rash, Ken Jeong and Chevy Chase and has been nominated for a slew of awards including People's Choice, Teen Choice and Critics' Choice Television Awards.
Last year NBC removed the show from its mid-season schedule; a decision that surprised everyone from executive producer Neil Goldman and creator Dan Harmon to its large fanbase. Twitter became swamped with trending hashtags #savecommunity and #savegreendale, and online petitions began appearing almost instantly.
After months of ambiguity, series showrunner Dan Harmon has now confirmed via Twitter that Community will return to NBC on March 15th, 2012 to a Thursday night 8pm timeslot.
"What you call 8:00, we call home. Community returns to Thursday nights on March 15th."
