AMERICAN HORROR STORY Season Two Confirms Jessica Lange & Insane Asylum Setting

Series co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed the setting for the upcoming second season of FX's horror anthology series as well as returning cast members Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson and Zachary Quinto. Plus: Maroon 5 singer and TV's The Voice coach Adam Levine joins the cast.

After most cast members were systematically killed off during the first season of American Horror Story, it was revealed soon after that every season would feature an entirely different setting and story with new characters. It was also confirmed that several actors would be returning to portray new characters however and now co-creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed some of the returning cast and details involving the upcoming second season.

"(Season two) is set on the East Coast at an institution for the criminally insane that is run by Jessica (Lange). (The second season) is set in a completely different time period." said Murphy.

Alongside Lange, other returning stars so far confirmed are Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson and Zachary Quinto. Murphy confirmed that each star's new character will be vastly different from the ones they portrayed during the show's first season. New addition Adam Levine, singer for Maroon 5 and TV reality singing show coach from The Voice, will join the cast playing one of two lovers. The woman has yet to be cast opposite Levine.
