The Avengers assemble today on DVD and Blu-ray, and eFX Inc. is excited to be releasing the first in its long-awaited series of Marvel superhero collectibles! Today at efxcollectibles.com, eFX begins releasing its Captain America posters and trading cards — exact replicas of those seen on screen in Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers.
Three designs of replica posters seen in Captain America: The First Avenger are available at $20 each starting today. They're created directly from the original digital files used to create the on-screen props, which reflect the WWII roots of Captain America and recall the vibrant visual look of the Joe Johnston-directed film.
Also from eFX, Captain America trading cards from The Avengers include 10 different cards, each of which comes in two different versions: The "near-mint" cards created during the height of Captain America's popularity (which Agent Coulson searched for and wanted Captain America to sign) … and a bloodied version that Nick Fury showed to The Avengers to convey Agent Coulson's unwavering loyalty. The trading cards will be available as of Oct. 16, and will include the story of these props and a certificate of authenticity.
Prices listed do not include shipping, handling and California sales tax, where applicable.
On Tuesday, Oct. 9, eFX will also begin accepting pre-orders for its first full-scale, screen-accurate Marvel prop replicas. The first items available for pre-ordering will be Thor's helmet and his hammer, Mjolnir. The helmet is from the Thor movie, and Mjolnir is a replica of the prop used in The Avengers. Both prop replicas astounded fans when they were previewed at WonderCon and Comic-Con.
Ordering details (including deposit information) will be available at eFX's website beginning Oct. 9. Captain America posters, shown below along with other eFX Marvel prop replicas, are available beginning today online at eFXCollectibles.com.
