Sons of Anarchy is an adrenalized drama with darkly comedic undertones that explores a notorious outlaw motorcycle club's (MC) desire to protect its livelihood while ensuring that their simple, sheltered town of Charming, California remains exactly that, Charming. The MC must confront threats from drug dealers, corporate developers, and overzealous law officers. Behind the MC's familial lifestyle and legally thriving automotive shop is a ruthless and illegally thriving arms business. The seduction of money, power, and blood.

Jackson 'Jax' Teller (Charlie Hunnam) is SAMCRO's new President who must face the consequences of the MC's illicit deeds before it tears apart the club. Gemma Teller-Morrow (Katey Sagal) is Jax's formidable mother, Clarence 'Clay' Morrow (Ron Perlman) is Jax's stepfather, the last of the Original Nine and former President, and Dr. Tara Knowles (Maggie Siff) is Jax's old lady and mother of his second son.

This season begins with Jax and Tara as the club's new king and queen after learning the truth behind Jax's father's death and facing the consequences of the club's illicit deeds. Stripped of his patch after Jax discovers he was complicit in John Teller's death, Clay recovers from gunshot wounds that nearly killed him while Gemma is faced with a new life without the comfort of her family. With the threat of RICO still looming, Jax has to find a way to protect his family and save his club as SAMCRO is pulled into a conflict with a potent new enemy.

Season Five, Episode 5 'Orca Shrugged'

So Kurt Sutter has decided that after making us cringe and then cry ourselves to sleep the past two weeks, that he'll make us laugh our asses off instead. 'Orca Shrugged' was the funniest episode of the series to date and features one of the creepiest, yet hilarious acting cameos in the show's history. Jax has really taken the reins of SAMCRO's business ventures and the new deal to set up an escort service with Nero (Jimmy Smits) is firing up. Take note however because Gemma and Nero are no longer allowed to be romantically sexing it up now that Nero is in with the club. This leads to an intense physical showdown between the two that almost turned into sex but ended up just being sweaty and strange.

Speaking of strange and sweaty, this brings us to The Sons' plot to convince a town board member to vote in favor with the mayor and in turn, getting some property out of town for the 'brothel'. The boys end up drugging a massively obese man, dress him up in bondage gear and then hire a transvestite to do gross things to him while they take blackmail photos. This transvestite is played by none other than Walton Goggins (Justified, The Shield). He plays Venus and he is disturbing to say the least. These scenes are really, really funny and the creepy glances that Tig continues to make at this guy's boobs is off the rails hilarious.

After so much humor we're however once again reminded that this world can be tragic as yet another home invasion from Clay's Nomad SAMCRO dickheads results in what will likely be a murder with massive ramifications. Jax has established that he can handle SAMCRO business in a big way, humor still has a place in Charming after so many tragedies and Sutter's biker drama continues to surprise after five seasons with it's versatility.
