GREEN LANTERN: THE ANIMATED SERIES Concept Art
Published: October 10, 2010 - 5:00pm
Concept art for Cartoon Network's new series on Green Lantern has been released from this year's New York Comic Con. Green Lantern: The Animated Series will debut some time in 2011.
No actual footage from the series was shown at NYCC, just test a 20-second test clip of animation.

To see the rest of the art, head over to Geeks of Doom.
The Green Lantern series will be the first computer-generated, animated series featuring DC Universe comics characters. The story will focus on Hal Jordan, Kilowog (his Corps drill instructor) and an yet to be named Red Lantern. The Red Lanterns are a savage parallel to the Green Lantern. The Red Lantern Corps is fueled by the light of rage, and its ring-wielders roam the galaxy seeking violent retribution and death. The series will not be considered canon for the live-action movie franchise.

Looks interesting, definitely potential for some sweet space fights.

So cool!
CG is going to let them do Green Latern powers much better than traditional 2D.
Now that I think about it, Reynold's comparison of Green Lantern's universe to Star Wars does make sense! Jedi and Sith both focus on different emotions to channel the force much like the different lanterns. I'm probably slow to pick on up this.

There is a shaky vid of the test footage

I was so pissed that I couldn't get in the room for the panel. I got there a half hour early and there was a [crap] load of people already waiting. I didn't even come close to getting in, probably a few hundred people were turned away.

I'm dying of anxiety to see the Sinestro in the series.

I am getting sick of the Bruce Timm broad shoulders.

I'm loving this so far, I generally only watch Cartoon Network for Adult Swim, but this will probably change that
casinoskunk, I heard the animation style was more "Incredibles" inspired, and I think that came from Bruce Timm himself, and it definitely shows.

I am not down with Kilowog, but i will need to see him standing next to someone else. This image makes him look like a dwarf. It would be cool if they could do some good texturing on the characters like Clone Wars. Right now it looks like that old show Reboot.

Oh, i also hope that Oa looks like that in the movie. It is a bit like Tron, but it looks pretty badass.

The 'wog definitely looks taller in the test footage.

This is very familiar.
Does anyone remember a website some years back called Green Lantern: The Animated Series. It had pretty much this above content but had a notice that is was not real and just a site for nothing more than fanfare or something. The art was also based on Timm's style but not CG rendered.
I do believe it looks like it does have The Incredibles style to it. Should make for some great watching.
To change Kiliwog's statement just a tad; "Me, I'm NOT getting to old for this! Whoot!"
