Lionsgate Picks Up Muppet Murder Film from Brian Henson
The Brian Henson written film, Happytime Murders, has been picked up by Lionsgate and centers around Muppet death with dark comedic undertones.

Brian Henson is Muppet mastermind Jim Henson's son and the movie that he has written depicts an alternate world in which humans live alongside Muppets, but treat them as second class citizens. Then the cast of an 80's Muppet show called The Happytime Gang, start turning up dead so an alcoholic private detective Muppet begins to investigate the murders with his human partner.
Happytime Murders was written by Todd Berger and will be directed by Brian Henson with an estimated start date as early as this coming January. Jim Henson Co. has been developing the project since 2008. This news all comes in no relation to another Muppet film in the works written by Jason Segal. That film's title is tentatively called The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made (Or Of All Time, Depending).
Jim Henson Co. is also developing a Dark Crystal sequel (The Power Of The Dark Crystal), so look for a Muppet global domination in the near future. Mahna mahna.

That's going to be a tough sell to Average Joe Moviegoer but it sounds very interesting.
Anybody else ever get creeped out by Fozzy Bear?

Sounds a lot like Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I freakin' love the old school Jim Henson and Jim Henson inspired films of the '80s. This sounds interesting if they can sell the story. It's time for a new generation to get into these foam characters. The original Yoda was a muppet.

He only gets creeped out by Fozzy Bear because he has the sneaking suspicion that Henson modeled Fozzy after him...
