The Norwegian mockumentary film The Troll Hunter has been wowing audiences at film festivals in Europe and with the release of the full trailer, the film has also been acquired by an arm of Magnolia Pictures for global distribution rights.
"The interest in The Troll Hunter from around the world has been overwhelming," said producer John M. Jacobsen.
The film is shot in that Cloverfield style of movie-making and is about a group of film students that set out to catch real life trolls on camera after they discover that they do exist. The trailer below looks action packed and the effects of the massive creatures look very impressive. The trolls all look very different from one another, adding some variety to the movie which should make for an entertaining viewing experience.
"The Troll Hunter is one hell of a ride, with trolls the size of King Kong. André Ovredal has created a one-of-a-kind creature feature that's sure to entertain and wow audiences all over the world. We're extremely proud to add it to the Magnet slate," said Senior Vice President of Magnet Tom Quinn.
The Troll Hunter is due for release in 2011 and will be distributed by Magnet Releasing, which is a branch of Magnolia Pictures. It is written and directed by André Ovredal.
