FALLING SKIES Creator Hired to Rewrite THOR 2 Script

Robert Rodat has been tapped to re-work the screenplay for director Alan Taylor in the follow up to the popular 2011 comic book based film starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston.
After Patty Jenkins, director of Academy Award winning film Monster starring Charlize Theron and Emmy Award nominee for directing the pilot of AMC’s acclaimed series The Killing, left the helm of Thor 2 last month Marvel Studios moved ahead quickly to find a replacement. Alan Taylor, known for his acclaimed work directing popular HBO series Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, The Sopranos, Sex and the City, and Six Feet Under, soon boarded the project which is currently scheduled for a November 15, 2013 release date.
Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman are slated to return to star in the film along with Tom Hiddleston. No official story details have been released though recent rumors point to the inclusion of Amora the Enchantress and Skurge the Executioner as possible villains. It's now been revealed that Saving Private Ryan and The Patriot screenwriter Robert Rodat has been hired to perform a rewrite of Don Payne's previously green-lit shooting script. Rodat's most recently accomplishment is creating the TNT science fiction series Falling Skies which recently ended a successful first season.
In addition to Thor 2, Marvel Studios is currently scheduled to release The Avengers on May 4, 2012, and Iron Man 3 which is slated for release on May 3, 2013. Other yet to be officially announced live-action Marvel projects for film and television are also said to be in the works.
