MADONNA's Ecstasy Comments Called "Stupid" by DJ PAUL VAN DYK

During the Ultra Music Festival, Madonna made a surprise appearance to introduce headliner Avicii and asked the crowd if they "had seen Molly?", making a reference to the drug ecstasy. Electronic music pioneer Paul Van Dyk has lashed out at the pop singer's off-handed comment.

Earlier this week Deadmau5 first commented publicly on Twitter to Madonna saying, "You're a role model to 100's of millions. EDM could use your positive influence, not 'molly' talk." To which Madonna responded by claiming that she wasn't making a drug reference and actually meant the song titled 'Have You Seen Molly' by Cedric Gervais, whom she nearly collaborated with on her newest record 'MDNA'. The pop singer also made clear that she in no way supports drug use.

"I don't think she was thinking much. The only thing she was probably thinking was, 'I need to connect with a young crowd,' and she made the biggest mistake of her career. Madonna was so stupid to actually call out drug abuse in front of a crowd of 18-year-olds. This is not what our music is about. It's really counterproductive," said Van Dyk.
