From Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures comes the sequel to the popular 2011 comic book based film starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston.

Thor: The Dark World is directed by Alan Taylor based off a screenplay by Robert Rodat andf Don Payne. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Zachery Levi and Ray Stevenson and is scheduled for theatrical release November 8th, 2013.
Aside from the film's new title, which was recently revealed at 2012 Comic-Con International in San Diego last week, no official story information has been made available about the upcoming sequel. During a recently interview, stuntman James Grogan has revealed a few behind-the-scenes details about the project that lend credence to rumors that the film's central villains will the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim:

"The other day for example, this is quite random but I was working on Thor 2... I had a load of stunt guys in and the director came in and he said ‘Look, we want you all to be elves,’ and I was like ‘What the hell is an elf anyway?’
"He said ‘I want you all to walk around like these supernatural animals,’ honestly it was the most ridiculous thing ever but you just have to not be self aware and get on with it."
The two most famous elves from Marvel Comics mythology are Malekith the Accursed and Kurse, both longstanding villains of Thor (pictured the the right). There's been no response yet from the studio regarding this latest news.
