Kinect Prepped to be Biggest Platform Launch Ever

The next step in hands free gaming is approaching rapidly and Microsoft is ready to unleash their direct competition to other motion gaming rivals, the Wii and Playstation 3's Move.

Microsoft is a little late to the party when it comes to motion controls, but they've clearly outdone themselves, as Kinect requires zero controllers and is just a camera that detects body movements and voice commands.
"Retailers are telling us from their buzz and what they hear from people walking the store asking questions that this is going to be the biggest consumer home electronics launch of this year, and they're gearing up towards that.
"Given all the momentum that I see and the way we're investing, I'll bet this is the biggest platform launch ever," said Phil Spencer, Microsoft Game Studios' Corporate Vice President.
He went on to say that he expects to move around 3 million units of Kinect during the holidays, at that time the peripheral, which attaches to an existing Xbox 360, will have 15 titles ready at launch.
"I don't want to get ahead of ourselves, but we're invested and we expect, yeah, that this will be the biggest launch we've ever seen," said Spencer.
Kinect will be available November 4th in North America and November 10th in Europe for the Xbox 360.

Ugh, this is so dumb, if you wanna do actual stuff, go outside.

I see this as no different than having an indoor gym. It's just another tool for getting in shape. Besides, if it keeps a kid form just sitting on a couch and watching TV while becoming morbidly obese, I'm cool with it.

I don't think it will be that huge until actual Christmas when parents are looking for kid games for their children and read about it in some ad.
